On October 15, 1953, the Indonesian Christian University (UKI) was inaugurated, consisting of: Faculty of Letters and Philosophy, with Sub-faculties: Pedagogic and Letters, and Faculty of Economics.

 

Universitas Kristen Indonesia (Christian University of Indonesia) is a for-profit private higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large metropolis of Jakarta SCR. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia.

 

Universitas Kristen Indonesia (Indonesian Christian University) is committed to providing education supported by international standard facilities and technology. It develops cooperation with national and international institutions in the field of Tri Dharma of Higher Education in Indonesia and Asia according to Christian values.

 

Universitas Kristen Indonesia (UKl) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study.

Sekolah Harapan Prestasi is a national private school with Accreditation A and registered as an ESCA School, which has succeeded in developing education programs in the Elementary School Level since 2010, and currently Sekolah Harapan Prestasi has established the Junior High School Level to succeed the 9 compulsory education programs in Indonesia.

 

The school has been legalized as one of the Cambridge International Schools in Indonesia with the aim that all students have great opportunities to develop their Global insights.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT SYSTEM

Sekolah Harapan Prestasi supports the learning process in the industrial era 4.0. According to Barreiro 2021, the industrial revolution in education, particularly in Education 4.0, demands digital transformations at pace of scientific and technological transformations and innovations, framed in a new educational model. In line with this, SHP has collaborated with Google Suite, digital library Eduhub platform for Education to support the school’s Learning Management System (LMS). This initiative allows the institution to strengthen the academic support system of the learners by applying the Flipped Classroom-Method in Learning. Hence, schooling in SHP becomes more digitalized, effective, and flexible, as it adapts to the constantly evolving needs of society.

On the other hand, SHP also conducts Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular Activities. The institution organizes various extracurricular activities to accommodate the talents and interest of students. Teachers provide various activities to learners that boost confidence, enhance skills, flourish innate talents. Students’ task aims to intensify students’ participation and increase social interactions.

Additionally, the teaching and learning process will not become successful without complete and functional facilities for learning. The Sekolah Harapan Prestasi offers various learning facilities such as:

TEACHING SYSTEM

Sekolah Harapan Prestasi is a Satuan Pendidikan Kerjasama (SPK) private school that implements both the national and international curriculum.

 

Accordingly, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology has given SHP the authority to establish "Kurikulum Merdeka" as a national school. Based on the study of Randall et al., 2022, Kurikulum Merdeka primarily focuses on the development of foundational skills in literacy and numeracy, with greater emphasis on necessary knowledge and skills that learners must learn and acquire. More so, it emphasizes the important competencies, including the 21st century skills, higher-order thinking skills, and the development of character for all learners. This also embraces the Indonesian concept of ‘Gotong royong’ or mutual cooperation, which foster a sense of camaraderie of the stakeholders in the development and implementation of the new curriculum, leading to success of the teaching and learning process. Undeniably, Kurikulum Merdeka is a beneficial educational plan, enabling the nation to create high-quality education that reinforces Indonesia’s culture, history, and diversity.

 

Moreover, the institution also follows the Cambridge Curriculum, which has been embraced and utilized worldwide. This was implemented by SHP to set a global standard for education, allowing learners to become globally competitive and equipping them the essential skills needed for success and future careers. SHP applies the Cambridge Curriculum for English Language, Mathematics, Science, and ICT. This helps enrich the global knowledge of the students, develop deep subject knowledge, conceptual understanding, higher-order thinking skills, and expose learners to a wide range of learning opportunities that help enrich their academic journey and broaden their cultural horizons.

 

Over and above, Sekolah Harapan Prestasi also completes its curriculum with three local content curricula, namely:

  1. Mandarin

  2. Coding

  3. PLBJ

 

All in all, Sekolah Harapan Prestasi has a holistic teaching system, anchored to different recognized curricula, that aims to provide high-quality education for Prestasinians to become beacon of courage and excellence in the future.
